IMO, the PC will be faster if we run the spoolsv.exe in 64-bit environment. This way, we can utilize the
64-bit operation system to gain maximum performance
NOTE: Windows 7 x64 edition contains all required components
to run 64-bit windows spoolsv.exe, however, it doesn't
contain a 32-bit spoolsv.exe as a separate process.
To have both 32-bit and 64-bit spoolsv.exe process running at the same
time, you can first remove the 64-bit spoolsv.exe process.
In the Search box, type command prompt and press enter.
At the Command prompt, enter the following command :
> sc delete spoolsv.exe
Press Y to confirm.
Now the 64-bit spoolsv.exe process can be removed.
> sc delete spoolsv.exe
Press Y to confirm.
Warning: Do not have any 32-bit spoolsv.exe application running in the background.
Warning:
If you are seeing a message saying
" A thread cannot be loaded in the 64-bit process
because the 64-bit version of the thread is loaded in the process"
Please restart the PC.
Note: If this happens, you can resolve this by running the following command.
> exit
> sc delete spoolsv.exe
> exit
Note: Restarting your PC is a better solution than replacing spoolsv.exe file.
This is the main reason why we see "A thread cannot be loaded in the 64-bit process..."
Let me know if this helped.
